There is going to be a new web site for the GWMS Band and Orchestra.  It is still being developed, but there is enough complete for it to go live.  You can check it out by clicking here.  Soon, this existing page will be deleted.  Let me know what you think of the new one!

Virtual Sessions on Tuesday May 5th

Hi all!  Next week we will have virtual sessions once again.  They will be on Tuesday, May 5th.  Band will have theirs from 10-10:30am and orchestra will have theirs from 11-11:30am.  Links for each will only be posted in Google Classroom and will go up approximately 30 minutes prior to the session.  See you there!

Remote Learning Activities

I'll be adding the weekly activities for the band and orchestra students to this page.  This information is also added to the each class's individual page in Google Classroom and is emailed to parents Monday mornings around 9am.  Stay well, everyone!

Quinlan Hours During Stay at Home

Hey all!  I hope you are well.  Wanted to let you know that Quinlan and Fabish is operating with modified hours while we are under the stay at home order.  Go to their website and follow the prompts.  They are doing curbside drop off/pick up and free delivery.  Use them for your supply and music needs!

Collage-Thursday, March 19th

The information for the students performing in Collage is posted.  Jazz Band, Pops Orchestra, solo and ensemble duets and trios, and 7th and 8th grade chamber ensembles are performing at this event.

Pep Band Gig Update-7th and 8th Grade Bands

An update for the Pep Band Gig on Thursday: 
1.  You may wear your band t-shirt to school on Thursday, but with khaki pants.
2.  New pick up time of 5:30pm (if not sooner).  You are going to be dismissed after halftime of the second game.

Fundraiser Starts Today!

Our fundraiser starts today!  We are selling coffee and fudge through Friday, November 8th.  Prizes to the top sellers; 7th and 8th graders can earn half price or free High Note trips!  Info is linked on this page.  Good luck!

Welcome Back!

Greetings all!  I am looking forward to seeing each of you as we start school this coming Wednesday!  Get those instruments ready!  Your handbook is updated and posted, go look through it!  Please submit the acknowledgement page by Friday, September 13th.  You can do that online now!  See you soon!

Finishing 2018-19 School Year

Thanks to all for a great school year!  The bands and orchestras gave some wonderful performances highlighting the hard work the students put in this year.  Have fun this summer, but do practice so that we can start next year rolling!  Our band/orchestra department Google calendar is updated so you have the dates for next year already.  The handbook will be updated in August.  'Till then, "Have a nice summer!"

Band Concert Rescheduled!!!!

Hey band folks!  Hope you are enjoying these couple of days off from school and that you are staying warm!  The band concert will now be on Wednesday, Feb. 13th at 6:30pm.  Conferences were rescheduled to the date of our original date so it had to be moved.  Please update your calendars!  The GWMS Google band calendar has been updated to reflect the change.

Now posted are the informational fliers for the 8th grade Orchestra and 8th grade Band Festivals at LTHS.  Be sure to check them out and return your permission slips on time!

7th and 8th Grade Bands-First events!

7th and 8th grade bands, the information for Sounds of the Stadium and Band Night at LTHS has been posted and added to your Google Classroom class pages.  8th graders are expected at both, 7th grade is expected at Sounds, but has the option to perform at LT.

School Year is Approaching!

Oh my goodness! The new school year is 1 week away!  Summer has flown, I hope you are ready go!  Basics right now for GW band and orchestra;  the first day you need your instrument will be Tuesday, September 4th, and be sure to check this page weekly for updates (and the calendar!)  There will be less paper passed out (unless you want it so you can leave it on the floor :) so make sure you check these resources frequently!  See you soon!

Summer Music Camp at LTHS

LTHS is offering music camps this summer for band, percussion, and strings.  This link will take you to the website with more information and where you can sign up.  It would be a great way to keep up your playing over the summer!  Also a chance to meet new friends and make great music!
