Winter Concerts Were a Success!

Congrats to each band and orchestra on successful Winter Concerts.  All of the ensembles performed very well and the students should be proud of the work they put in preparing for their concert.  Nice job!

Winter Concerts

Our Winter Concerts are approaching!  In about 3 weeks the 6th graders in band and orchestra will present their concert.  The date of that performance is Wednesday, December 3rd.  The 7th and 8th grade bands will perform on Wednesday, December 10th, the 7th and 8th grade orchestras will perform on Thursday, December 10th.  All performances will begin at 6:30pm and be held in the Multipurpose Room at GWMS.  The 6th grade informational concert flyer is posted now; the 7th and 8th grade flyers will be posted soon.  Please check these out for all of the details regarding concert dress and call times.

Veteran's Day Assembly

On Friday, November 14th, GWMS is hosting a Veteran's Day Assembly.  All GWMS students are encouraged to wear red, white, or blue, including the 7th and 8th grade band and orchestra students! I think that would make for a nice visual as we perform.  You may still wear your black music department polo, if you like.

LTHS 8th Grade Orchestra Festival

The information about the 8th Grade Orchestra Festival has been posted.  There were errors in the original copy that was given to the students today.  The event is at LTHS South Campus, 4900 Willow Springs Road.  Also, students may include $7 if they wish to have Ledo's Pizza for lunch that day.  I apologize for the mistake.

Great Series of Concerts!

I would like to pass along congratulations to all of the band and orchestra students on great concerts this spring.  Each concert went very well; the students should feel proud of their work!

Grade School Tours a Success!

The tours to the grade schools last week went really well.  A thank you to the students in the ensembles that traveled to the buildings for your hard work and attention.  Well done!

7th and 8th Grade Band Concert

I hope everyone's spring break is going well!  This post is to remind you that the 7th and 8th grade Spring Band Concert is going to be 4 weeks from today on Tuesday, April 29th at 7pm in the GWMS Multipurpose Room.  Please be sure this date is on your calendars!

Collage was a success!

Last night's Lyons District #103 Fine Arts Festival, Collage, was a great success.  All performances were great including the 8th Grade Orchestra and Jazz Band.  The event was a wonderful display of the arts activities going on in our district.  Well done!

Coffee has been delivered!

Thank you to everyone who sold coffee during our fundraiser.  The coffee has been delivered and we will begin passing out to students tomorrow!

Congrats to the Solo and Ensemble Contest Participants!

Congratulations are in order for all of the students from band and orchestra who performed in the LTHS Solo and Ensemble Contest this past Saturday.  You all did a very fine job!

Excellent Job, Band!

I would like to congratulate the GWMS Patriot Pep Band on it's performance on Saturday!  You gave an excellent performance!  March Madness is a long event and you all pushed through and definitely gave your best effort.  Well done!
